Successful weekend for Marten Luiten

For the second time this weekend, Marten Luiten claimed victory. This time with the 10-year-old gelding Forever, with whom he topped the leaderboard in the ZZ-Licht class scoring 76,050%. In doing so, he left Diana van de Bovenkamp with Fürst Toto and Lara van Nek with Jatilinda behind him, who finished in second and third place with 75,425% and 75,333% respectively.

“I’m really happy with my test. Even though he already gave such a great feeling during the indoor championships, I didn’t completely expect to win this class. That’s always a bit of a wait and see,” Marten says about Forever, whom he trains and competes for Anchor Excellent Horses. “For this level he is actually already very established, and at home we’ve already started working a little on the exercises for the higher levels. I’ve secretly already tried the piaffe and passage, and that’s actually going quite well!” Marten therefore concludes his weekend at The Dutch Masters on a high note, taking home two victories as well as a place on the KNHS Talent Team 2026.

Local quadrille talent
Arena 2 was buzzing with activity, as no fewer than six quadrille teams came to the start for the freestyle final to music. The victory stayed close to home: the team Quadrilles from Bavel convincingly claimed first place. “This is only the second time we’ve ridden this test together, but look how smoothly it went! We really enjoyed it 100%,” says Linda, one of the four riders of the newly formed team. “Our music choice? Well, we thought: Indoor Brabant - that simply has to be Guus Meeuwis!” laughs Denise, who was responsible for the musical part.
