Dubbeldam, Ahlmann, Delestre, Guerdat, Brash, they are all present!
The line-up for the international jumping competitions at the 50th edition of Indoor Brabant is again of top level. The world’s top riders will be present in the Brabanthallen from 9 till 12 March. No less than 13 riders out of the top 20 of the world jumping rankings will travel to ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
The Dutch contingent is lead by the World and European Champion Jeroen Dubbeldam and Harrie Smolders, Maikel van der Vleuten and Jur Vrieling. The young generation of Dutch riders is also well represented with Lisa Nooren, Sanne Thijssen and Ruben Romps. In total 15 riders will defend the Dutch colours, among them VDL rider Leopold van Asten, Marc Houtzager, Albert Zoer, Piet Raijmakers Jr and Gerco Schröder.
But the Dutch will experience strong competition from abroad. Germany is sending a strong team with Christian Ahlmann, Ludger Beerbaum and Marcus Ehning, who won the Rolex Grand Prix Indoor Brabant last year. France is coming to ’s-Hertogenbosch with their four best riders: Simon Delestre, Kevin Staut, winner of the Rolex Grand Prix in 2014, Pénélope Leprevost and the popular Roger-Yves Bost.
The 2012 Olympic Champion, Steve Guerdat will enter the competition ring for Switzerland and Scott Brash, who won Olympic team gold that same year, will certainly try to win for Great Britain. The last time a British rider won was in 1997, Michael Whitaker and Ashley. Brash won the Rolex Grand Slam (Grands Prix of Genève, Aken and Spruce Meadows) with Hello Sanctos in 2015.
Ireland will be represented by Bertram Allen and Denis Lynch, winner in 2011 and Belgium travels with five riders: the Philippaerts brothers, Oliver and Nicola, Niels Bruynseels, Pieter Devos and Gudrun Patteet. Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander will guarantee some ‘girl-power’.
