DVB Foundation Award for Joyce Heuitink
This evening the DVB Foundation Award was presented to national coach para dressage Joyce Heuitink. According to the jury, she not only received this Award for the unparalleled success of a record number of seven medals during the Paralympics in Rio the Janeiro, but also for her contributions on a broader level.
“Joyce Heuitink really lifted the level of Dutch para dressage with passion and skill in the last for four years, according to jury member Joop Stokkel. The former Paralympic medal winner successfully organised, together with Heuitink, small competitions for disabled riders at riding schools. Additional they provided training sessions for both shortlisted riders and future talents of the Talentenplan. Heuitink also helped to establish the Future Group training sessions for talented riders who were not qualified for the Talentenplan because of their age.
“In short, Joyce committed to para dressage on all levels. She really deserves this annual award," said Joop Stokkel.
