Dressage riders on the hunt for points at The Dutch Masters
The Dutch Masters has been part of the FEI Dressage World CupTM since the beginning and the first final in 1986 was held in the Brabanthallen. Dressage riders love coming to 's-Hertogenbosch and this year is no different.
German multiple Olympic, World and European champion Isabell Werth will once again travel to the Brabanthallen with, among others, Emilio 107. She won the World Cup qualifier here for the first time in 2007 with Warum Nicht, in 2009 with Satchmo and in 2018 with Emilio 107. She is currently leading the FEI Dressage World CupTM Western European League. Her compatriots Benjamin Werndl, who is fourth in the standings, and Helen Langehanenberg (eighth in the standings) complete the German delegation.
World champion Charlotte Fry returns to the competition ring with her top ride Glamourdale after last December's London World Cup qualifier. "He went into stud after Herning and also had to be quarantined for abroad because of this. Of course, he also had a little rest in between and now Den Bosch came out nicely in our schedule."
Swede Patrik Kittel is now in a reasonably safe sixth place in the standings, but will certainly try to score a few more points with Forever Young HRH.
Dutch
The Dutch dressage riders, led by Dinja van Liere, will provide some good competition. Dinja, who won two bronze medals at the world championships in Herning last year and managed to win the World Cup qualifier in Amsterdam this year, will start Hermès in 's-Hertogenbosch. Dinja was at the Brabanthallen for the first time in 2022. "It is a beautiful show and everything is well organised. Last year it didn't quite go as planned, and I really hope it goes better this time anyway." In addition, Kirsten Brouwer (Foundation), Hans Peter Minderhoud (Glock's Dream Boy), Marlies van Baalen (Habibi DVB), Marieke van der Puttten (Torveslettens Titanium RS2) and Thamar Zweistra will start in the World Cup competition.
CDI3*/CDI1*
The 3* and 1* tour have a nice field of competitors and these will compete in the ring on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Many of the top riders already mentioned above will start but Belgium's Jorinde Verwimp will also compete in the Brabanthallen with Charmer and New Berry Z. Spaniard Severo Jesus Jurado Lopez will ride his Fuerstenglory in the 3* tour. The Dutch are well represented with Devenda Dijkstra, Lynne Maas, Lauren Neville, Karen Nijvelt, Laurens van Lieren, Tommie Visser and Quinty Vossers.
