The Dutch Masters officially started
The Dutch Masters officially started today. On this first day, besides the World Cup Dressage competition, two show jumping classes were also on the programme. This officially marked the start of a few wonderful days of top-class equestrian sport.
It was already traditionally busy. A full promo village, busy catering and well-filled stands. The starting lists for the 1.30m and 1.35m classes today consisted of the ten best combinations from the Brabant Regional Indoor Championships, completed by the two best combinations from the other Regional Indoor Championships.
Van Dellen wins the 1.30m
In the 1.30m, four combinations managed to stay clear in the jump-off. Eighteen-year-old Sytze Van Dellen Jr. proved to be too quick for everyone with his KWPN gelding Kevin EH (by F-One USA). The young rider from Opende recently started riding half days for Jur Vrieling and Suzanne Tepper and already showed his worth in 's-Hertogenbosch. Kristyna Schütte finished with Lambrusco (by Bacardi VDL) in second place, followed by Maartje Siemons and Harly (by Baltic VDL) in third place.
Wagenaar takes revenge
In the 1.35m class, Berry Wagenaar rode his mare Kerenia (by Zavall VDL) to a quick win. Where the rider had to settle for second place at Jumping Amsterdam, he now secured a 1.5-second lead that no one else could come close to. Rens Spreuwenberg took second place with Zeppe de Sabette Z (by Visa Zandor Z), followed by Rik van de Pas with Go-Go Nevada (by Ustinov).
